I haven’t done one of these in a long while, so, after some thought I’ve decided on five of my favourite things I’m going to share with you. I love to share new discoveries with my family and friends and sometimes I’m the one that’s just getting on the bandwagon. Sometimes it takes me a while to catch on!
It’s funny actually I was looking back at my previous posts about my favourites and I came across a mascara that somehow I’ve forgotten about, the Voluminous Butterfly Intenza. I guess I must have gone onto to try some other mascaras and then forgot to go back to my favourite. I don’t go through mascara very fast, so that’s another reason. It can be several months between the times I have to buy new ones. I’m going to buy some again for sure, because, everything I said about it is still exactly what I’m looking for in a great mascara!
Five of my favourite things
I put away my big, shiny, coffee pot for now. Only to brought out when I need to make larger quantities for company. It’s usually only me, myself, and I that is drinking coffee at home, so, my cute stream-lined French Press is perfect. I can make just what I need in a short amount of time and it tastes great. I have also mastered the “how to” of making a perfect cup of coffee.
Vitamin C Serum
I’m slightly obsessed with keeping my skin youthful and healthy. Not to the point that I have hundreds of products! But, I do try to find effective ones when I am replacing items and I like to add products that will actually benefit me in some way. I watch Angie on her YouTube channel Hot and Flashy and she really recommends the Vitamin C with Ferulic Acid Serum from Timeless Skincare. So, I’ve ordered it online and I really like it. I’m not sure if it’s done anything for me yet… it’s only my first bottle and I’ve barely gotten a quarter of the way through it. But, it does feel nice to use. Angie’s channel has a coupon code so you can get five dollars off if you order from the line. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant so it helps fight free radicals that attack your skin. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all which is what I like, especially because I apply it on my skin before my sunscreen.
When I was younger I used to decorate with houseplants and then at some point I got away from that. Mostly because I didn’t care for my plants well enough and they kept dying! I’ve now come full circle. I really love the look of green plants in white planters or very earthy, natural, looking planters. Plants help our environment… they clean our air, and they look so fresh and clean! I have had one fig tree plant that I had since my son, who is now twenty-three, was an infant. I had it on top of my armoire initially and now its a huge tree that takes up so much space in my kitchen. If anything ever happens to that tree now I’d be really, really upset! It’s part of the family!
Fun for Louis
This is a guy on YouTube, Louis Cole, that vlogs daily. I found him because he made a guest appearance on Jamie Oliver’s FoodTube channel once. They are both British. That explains it right. Everyone over there knows each other 🙂 He’s this young guy with dreadlocks that travels around the world filming his adventures. But, more importantly he has these ulterior motives to learn and bring people together to try to improve things in the world. He does projects with another British YouTuber, David Erasmus, that are really fun to watch.
I love this Netflix show! I can’t wait for season four! It’s a subtitled police show that takes place in Sweden and Denmark. I couldn’t figure out what language they were speaking, so, I googled it. Turns out the Swedish actors are speaking Swedish and the Danish actors are speaking Danish. I binge watched this show! I watched an episode when I’d come from a night-shift before going to bed and if it was my days off, well then I’d watch as many episodes as I could squeeze it:) The setting reminds me of my homeland 🙂 It really does remind me of Finland with the greyness of the winters, the buildings, the minimalism. I just loved it. I got one of my sisters onto it too and she’s loving it.
Well that is all for now. My five favourites that I’m really happy to share with you. I hope you found this somewhat interesting. I’d love to hear from you if you have an opinion on any of these things. If you know of a show similar to The Bridge… don’t hesitate to let me know!
Have a great weekend!
