I’m excited! I’ve got a few things to look forward to! We’ve booked a road trip to Florida in July that I’m excited about. We’ve started prepping for it now plus I’ve just signed up to do the Mudderella in Whistler this September with some friends from work! I only heard about Mudderella last year I think when some other friends from work did it. I’m not sure how long it’s been around for, but, it’s geared towards woman and team building. A few years ago I contemplated doing the Tough Mudder in Whistler, but, it didn’t work out 🙁 This time I’m all signed up and we have our team set!
My husband is so funny, because, he’s all set to whip me into winning shape and he wants to train me seriously now! It’s funny how my friends and I are thinking of this as a “girl’s weekend” and his thought it that we have to go into this to compete! Maybe he doesn’t realize that compete I will. Whenever I get into any situation like this I get very competitive 🙂
I’ve been doing well I think with my routine for working out. I’m going with the mindset it’s not all or nothing. If I have only fifteen minutes then I work out for fifteen minutes, I prefer longer workouts and I’ll plan for those, but, if things come up as they are bound to throughout the course of the day… I’ll do what I can. I also schedule my workouts in the morning, but, to be honest many times that doesn’t happen, because, of my sleeping patterns. I have the best intentions, but, I can’t get myself out of bed when my alarm goes off. I do find that as long as I schedule my workout in my planner I will do it even if it’s not at the scheduled time.
So, maybe a little less of this…
and more of this!
Having the Mudderella to look forward to right after summer is a great incentive for me to get stronger, to push myself harder, to keep working out, and to eat healthy through the holidays. Also, I’m the oldest on the team at fifty-one! I don’t want my age to hinder me. Basically I want to show up and be impressive with my athleticism!!
On another note… Snapchat has become huge! I think it’s the silly filters that people are playing around with when they are bored I know Keith and I are being totally silly with it. I bet the people who invented Snapchat never thought they would catch the attention of a more senior demographic, but, I think they have. I see so many people using it now for all kinds of things. I found this article useful when I first heard about it from one of my friends from work whose daughter was traveling and sending her “snaps”. By the way my son uses it and sends me snaps and I love that. Any way to keep in touch with my kids is great!
Some of the filters change daily and it’s crazy how they work! I’m having fun with it! So, what I’m getting at is check Snapchat out. You may find it enjoyable. Check with your kids and find out if they’re using it. I’m going to snap some of my work outs, our travels, and my Mudderella experience. Follow me on Snapchat. (Anneli.Schmidt)
Do you have any interesting summer plans? Have you tried Snapchat… what do you think?
